Can anyone please help..I have been trying for the last 2 years to get my english mobility vehicle re registered...the blocks I have come up against have been unbelievable..I have tryed 5 different agents with no joy...all coming up with the same reason.....'I was on the padron before I bought the car'...then they say...'I dont have the original conversion certificate'...first its one thing then another..I have paid out hundreds having lights etc changed. to no avail. This is my husbands only mode of transport due to the fact he cannot walk or talk and is totally dependant. The engineer at Redovan who is responsible for refusal is a rude arrogant man, who even chose to be rude to my solicitor when they approached him on human rights grounds. Funny thing is....my neighbour bought his vehicle in and got it re regged same conditions as me...or does anyone know of a reasonably priced wheelchair accessible vehicle...and I will send mine back to UK and sell it.....H E L P..!

sorry it should have been Annie, I have spoken to John who advised me it will be very be difficult to get it on Spanish plates, as it was not converted in Spain. The only other thing is to sell your car back in the UK to the garage who converted it & have a car converted in Spain.

There is a company in Alicante who do these type of conversions, maybe they can advise you how to get the certificate of conformity that you need to register the car here. I can get you their name and number tomorrow, although they may be closed during August. I will post it on here for you.

Calsru to get a licence you go to any Phycotechnico Office, there is one in Guadamar up by the Farmacia in the middle or we go to Almoradi on Dr marron. You have to take with you your old licence and if you are british, the green paper also. New copy of the padron which you can get from the Ayuntemiento and your passport. Take 2 copies of them all and keep a copy of them for yourself. They will take your photos and give you the necessary tests. They will then give you a piece of paper to cover you for driving. They will ring you some weeks later to tell you to go back and pick up your white card licence and then you will receive your licence through the post. It cost me, if I remember rightly 117 euros in total. You can go to Traffico yourself but that means two journeys. Hope you find this helpful. P.S. You also need your residencia and copies, also your N.I.E. have just found the piece of paper they gave me when I went.

The details of the company in Alicante who do vehicle adaptations are Taller Rabasa, C/ Camino Fondo Piqueres, 13, Alicante 03009. Phone number 965174990. I do not know if they can help but they may be able to. Otherwise why not phone traffico direct and ask what you need. They are only open during the mornings in the summer.
I think you may find that the medical places are no longer allowed to change a UK licence to a Spanish one, they can now only renew a Spanish one. I think it only changed a few months ago and you have to do it at Traffico.
