Speed limits....

Well Once again I feel the need to write about the speed limits, I live on Calle Luis De Gongora near to the entrance to consum car park and as much as I do not agree with the 30kph that have been put on some roads I would rather have that than the people who drive past my house at speeds at over 50kph, most of them have to break hard because when they come to the junction they do not know who has the right of way as the road markings have worn away and are almost invisable and the cars going in the other direction are also breaking hard as they are going into consum, people who act this way are putting others lives at risk. Last year there was a bad accident here where a mini bus was hit by a wagon and it rolled the mini bus over.I asked a councillor twice last year about speed signs and i talked to Jeff last week about it but seem I was wasting my breath, may be it will take a fatal accident before anything is done, the cost of putting a few signs up would be minimal so if I cannot get that done what chance of anything more costly.

First thing First if you are going to go to print on here get the basics correct, his name is Jeff, secondly go to the police station and make a formal complaint denouncia and then you will get some action(maybe) I agree that juction is particulary bad and if ever a 30kph speed limit was needed its that junction and area.

Commented Weejohnten in La Marina 2013-06-15 22:27:37 UTC

I would like to say how sad I think you are that you need to mention my mistake spelling Jeffs name as far as I know there are two ways of spelling that name so if you feel the need to correct me may be you need to find more to do with your time, I made the point that I wanted to make and that will do me.

Sounds like a La Marina hand bags at dawn duel coming on !!

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-06-16 17:22:49 UTC

No not really handbags but it is Pathetic and certainly not helpful, some people do not spell very well and with comments like that may be put off writing on here!!!!!!!!!!!

Commented Trevor Wheatley in La Marina 2013-06-16 17:29:01 UTC

Trevor,I think you stated that Jeff(whichever way you spell it, must be easier to understand than Wisznieski)so look further afield than your spelling.Just run through a few pages on this forum and when you come across weejohnten, you will probably find he is answering someone who has not been 100% a Jeff supporter, Unfortunately I think in weejohns brain anyone speaking not kindly of Jeff, Is their to be shot down,Unfortunately you told us Jeff didn't seem interested in your complaint, and to prove it he said you should go to the Police (why?, I didn't realize they gave permission and paid for the paint to paint signs on the road)leaving only your spelling of Jeff to complain about.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-06-16 18:38:14 UTC

Trevor and Alan,
Clearly the 30km/hour limit has generated much comment, however, I believe that the positioning of pedestrian crossings on more or less every junction is far more dangerous?
One of these days someone will drive under or over the current speed limit, turn a corner - BANG - dead pedestrian(s).

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-06-17 06:19:55 UTC

Trevor I apologise for nit picking and I also apologise to anyone else on this forum who may or mat not have spelling difficulties.
However the point made regards the police is the correct one, as they are the authority who have to enforce it and as such can pressure the council. That said I am surprised at Jeff's attitude I have always found him or some of the other councilors helpful, I stress this is only my opinion.

Commented Weejohnten in La Marina 2013-06-17 06:55:47 UTC

Alan
I will not hide the fact I'm pro Jeff and yes I do and have disagreed with him but face to face, however he is only one person on the council and what I get really annoyed at all the vitriol is aimed at Jeff. All I can say is in the previous regime there was nowhere you could get an answer, here the door is always open you may not like the answer your given but hey ho that's life.
I have said before on here why is it always negatives on the site?
Friendlyviking
The crossings were there in the previous council regime I didn't hear anybody complain then, and in fact if the limit lowered to 30kph the likely hood of anybody being killed is greatly reduced.

Commented Weejohnten in La Marina 2013-06-17 07:12:47 UTC

Why do i get the impression that you weejohnten, could be jeff in disguise because maybe its easier to spell than wisznieski ????????????????
just a thought...

Sorry you are barking up the wrong tree, we do have some things in common, we both came here from Scotland and a few other social things that shall remain private.

don't get stressed over a spelling mistake,,,some of your comments could be mistaken for Health & Safety rmemo's from Brussels,,pour yourself a beer,,,my roots are in Leith,,,not the posh end,,,

Weejohnten,
We have 17 Councillors on the San Fulgencio Council,Of these, as far as I know only two are really concentrated on the Urb.Paulino who is the Councillor for Parks and Gardens(and we do have a few of them on the Urb.The other one is Jeff, whose title I believe is Deputy Mayor, and Councillor for The Urbanisations and Fiestas. As Councillor for the Urbs, surely anything on the Urb must fall at his feet,If it doesn't he should surely put the complaint to the Councillor who is responsible. for It is his duty,to get the answers that us residents ask.(even if we don't agree with them. That is why Jeff takes a lot of flak,he fails in this duty so often that people moan,He has had a few years now to learn about Council work, and should support the residents whenever possible.I do strongly agree with him when the residents have had a pop at his Family his staff and their friends or Family, and quite rightly he has blown his top.
As for your constantly mentioning the lack of accommodation by the previous Council, surely that is well known. And does not excuse the current Council,They knew when they took over the Council,The state of finances and if doing their job correctly, surely even little things like painting numbers on a few roads, are entirely useless, where as keeping the lines on roads so that they can be seen must be safer for car drivers and pedestrians.Dont forget Jeff took the job,we didn't have to put his arms up his back

thanks for the reply (i think) anyway I'm from Stirling and its all posh lol. I prefer Soberano to beer but seeing as its so early I'll have a bottle of beer and say cheers.
As a bye the way see the JamTarts are in dire straights.

Commented Weejohnten in La Marina 2013-06-17 10:48:15 UTC

jeff didnt take the job, he was a member of a political partythat wasnt doing very well in the elections so he sacked the other members and put himself up as a candidate, and just scraped through, but what has he done for the urb, nothing but spend money on useless fiestas. At least Carlos & paulino are doing things positive, F,A getting the bars some protection from unecessary complaints and the road markings to reduce the speed limits

Commented davieselz in La Marina 2013-06-17 10:58:24 UTC

Jeff took the job of Deputy Mayor, and Councillor for the Urbs. and Fiestas.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-06-17 12:01:54 UTC

Weejohn,
I do not know how long you have been here, however, if it is a few years then you will no doubt remember Mick Blake from AIM? He represented the "other nations" on the Urb, worked from a broom cupboard in the little town hall next to Jeff's HQ and achieved more in a month for us than Jeff has managed with his Empire to achieve in the almost exactly 2 years he has been empowered.
These are the kind of people we need, are they not?

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-06-17 16:41:02 UTC

Got to agree about Mick Blake a true gentleman and a perfect Councillor,Its a shame I couldn't say that about the rest of the Councillors at the time,Mick always seemed to be doing Council work no matter what time of day or night.Unfortunately he was taken from us while he still had so much to give. How I wish todays lot could even be half as good as him.Mick gone but not forgotten.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-06-17 17:06:08 UTC

Sorry Viking cant speak re Mick I only been on the Urb 2yrs past Feb, although I did have a holiday home for 5yrs.

Commented Weejohnten in La Marina 2013-06-17 17:39:05 UTC

Yes it was a great pity that Mick Blake was taken from us so soon.

Sometimes when I read your comments I believe that you have been here much longer. I will try to remember in the future that you have really only the experience of this council and without offending you or your valid comments I must say that what we are experiencing at this time is a complete and utter shambles compared to that which we have experienced in the past.

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-06-18 07:07:49 UTC

for gords sake stop using this site to argue about non existent problems !!!

Commented annie in La Marina 2013-06-18 15:21:49 UTC

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2013-06-18 16:20:02 UTC

Annie,Lighten up ,have a larf,If we didn't make some silly comments and have silly debates,This Forum wouldn't be worth clicking onto,We have enough Forums locally for serious discussion and debate.
Well I suggest we have a chat about what is the best way to knit a scarf,Who wants to start it?.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2013-06-18 16:24:35 UTC

Commented marko in Quesada 2013-06-19 11:24:30 UTC

If they had any sense they would check it out for there-selves too get a true perspective on what really goes on, you know how the La Marina bullshit and bollocks works, some just don't want to hear/see it but contribute to it!!

I knit my own swimming trunks with knitted braces,,,,when put through my mangle in the scullery they hold 6 gallons of water,
the water is then recycled to make pots of tea

Don't you find when going into the pool, they tend to get heavy with water and tend to slide down,or was you clever and made a onesy so the shoulder straps held them up
